Very nice and quiet location. Very glad they were open ar 430pm.
This spot simply knows how to satisfy their customers. Consistently with a helpful attitude. The food is reasonably priced, constantly delicious and neat.
Standard for Japanese curry. Good spot for a quick lunch or dinner. Family friendly menu. Kids meals are nicely presented and come with a toy. My niece and nephew enjoyed it.
We’ve been going to The Curry House for more than 30 years. Incredibly good food for a reasonable price considering the quality. We went to this location for lunch on ThAnksgiving day. When the food arrive it was not piping hot. We ordered brown rice (theirs is really good) but apparently it was either old or overcooked. There were bits so hard that I thought some little pieces of bone were left on my chicken meat (chicken curry) but the my partner’s seafood curry had those crunchy bits. The curry sauce was tasty but was “faded” from the rich brown we’re used to seeing. I sure hope this was a one off because we’ve loved their food for years.
One of the best curry joints around. There is a good variety of food available here and prompt service. You can choose the level of spice that they make your food which is nice since curry isn't curry to me without some heat. You also have a good variety of proteins from seafood, beef, chicken, and pork. They also have a good kids menu if you're bringing long the kiddos. Parking is available for free in the shopping area . I prefer this location to the one in little Tokyo.
Good service good food
Great food and wonderful service
This place is awesome if you like new trendy food. I love the omelette rice. Price is little high
As with the recently re-opened Cypress location, the Torrance store proved to have gone drastically downhill since new ownership. This is heart breaking to me, as these restaurants were right at the top of my favorite in the world for 20 years.
Just came to this particular location because the one I usually go to is closed. I got here and waited for them to ask how many in my party, but they ignored me and tended to other people who basically cut ahead of me in line. I'm already unsatisfied with this location. Thanks, Torrance...
Always a great place to visit when I need a curry fix (which is often) :-)
Excellent hamburger curry with egg on top. The ice tea with liquid sugar is awesome. Great for lunch!
Had a great experience here with my kids. The food comes quickly and the service is just great. Prices are reasonable.
I have been eating their Japanese curry for 10 years.I always get Menchi Katsu Curry and don’t get tired of it at all.
This was a bit disappointing. I haven't been to this location in many years (usually go to the West LA location) and won't be rushing back anytime soon. I can't completely put my finger on it, but everything was lacking. Service was prompt and attentive, but lacked sincerity and ALL the employees asked if everything was okay to where it was overkill and annoying. They didn't have some menu items (NOT temporarily, permanently as I encountered as well as the people at the table next to me who ended up walking out). Food quality was average. I'm pretty sure my tonkatsu was pre cooked so when it was cooked again to reheat it was overdone and hard. Look at my unappetizing plate of brown food... So disappointing as they have always been a go to place for some good Japanese curry in the past.
The Best, been here since I was a kid. Yeah prices are a bit more for what you get, but dang, chill. The quality is good, it's always clean, service is superb and parking is easy. I go way out of my way to get my curry house 😍
Easy to find. Very clean place. Went there last night. Waitress took our order. Daughter wanted miso soup and son and I had the salad. Salad wasnt good at all. Had red beans, uncooked snap peas, lettuce, corn, and some kind of dressing that wasnt good. Ordered the katsu curry(med). It was ok, veggies were not offered at all. Son ordered meatball spaghetti. He said it tasted funny to him but the bread was good. Overall my daughter loved it. I won't go back unless my daughter wants it. Advice...water is lemon flavored, if you dont like that let them know.
I recommend the Curry Soup Udon. It was very tasty!
Ok..so let's think scenarios..you're left with one of the toughest questions. What should we get to eat? *And it's either just you and another person* or *you and your whole family* .. TRY THIS PLACE . IT BEATS FAST FOOD. ITS CLASSY & CASUAL. ITS DELICIOUS. best curry I've ever had. Very clean place too.
Very nice atmosphere & the staff is attentive. I highly recommend this place.
Very good service and very good food. Got the curry with the chicken breast and mild curry sauce white rice. Very good. They even brought a complimentary salad. Very impressive and decently priced as well
I couldn't tell the difference between my "spicy" curry and my wife's mild curry. The salad tasted like it came out of a Smart and Final premade salad bag. I'm hard to disappoint but this food was just bla. The service was great. I really liked the server. But the food?. Meh... I won't be going back. I know this place has been around for a while. I remember them being good back in the day. But I also don't remember many other places offering curry back when this place opened. I think they need to revamp their recipes and image. I wish them well. Gordon Ramsey need to give them a makeover.
I love getting their chicken leg katsu curry. Nothing beats the classic taste of curry too. I really love adding their fukujinzuku (or pickled vegetables) to the curry. I highly recommend it. The meals are not so cheap though.
A quant little place, fast service and friendly staff.
Japanese curry is very different from Indian. I dined at this restaurant several times the food is OK, not outstanding. Sometimes you have to wait too long.
Always feel like eating at very comfortable family restaurant. Great atmosphere and service.
I’ve been coming to Curry House since I was a kid. The traditional Japanese curry is truly a comfort food for the soul.I’ve never had anything bad here. My favorite is the seafood curry. I also enjoy the chicken katsu curry at the super spicy level. The pasta dishes are also delightful here. The tofu salad and the shrimp salads are incredibly satisfying. Portions are very American.
Great food and service.
If you are a fan of Japanese curry, you will love Curry House. I have been to several of their locations, and the food is consistently good. They offer many options for add-ons, and have Japanese style spaghetti and other non-curry items.
Always good food...the curry never disappoints! Be sure to pay a little extra and get the garlic spinach rice. Service is extremely attentive...and nice!
If like me, you love the traditional beef curry, then thus is the place for you. I ate so much curry in Japan and I was very happy to see one on my visit to LA.
Normally I get great service, and great food. Today was not a good day at the Torrance Curry House. Service was subpar and the taste and quality of the Curry wasn't up to their normal standards.
My husband and I have been coming here for over a decade. Needless to say we love this place. His go to dish is Katsu Curry over rice.....delicious! I love the seafood curry over spaghetti. The service has always been great. The dishes are always served in a timely manner and the drinks refilled several times.
Parking is ok .Staff is just all rigth .Too many items on the menu .Food revived was cold .Place was dirty and poorly lit . Small flies all over . Slow service that turned into self service You can do better than this place
Love this place i go as often as possible really like their food i am a customer for more than 30 years
Excellent Japanese curry. We don't live in the area anymore but have driven 120 miles each way just to have their curry. I wish they had one in Palm Springs.
Great corn pottage with curry hamburger Patty and brown rice. A protein meal that last from lunch through late working evenings.
Food is good but doesn't make sence to wait 30 minutes just to get table when restaurant is empty.
A great place for curry, but there are other food options as well.
It's actually close, it's been closed for months
The food was so tasty and the staff really know how to take care of you.
So yummy as always! I had the Sesame Chicken Curry on rice pilaf. I had had a big lunch so I only ate half but it was so very tasty and the left overs reheated at home were equally as good. Curry House never disappoints! Try the Curry Udon also. You will be happy you did.
Affordable, great food, good choices and fantastic staff!
The key to the Curry House is consistency..It's always tasty and fresh
Good mild curry. No vegetables small salad. Friendly service.
Good selection of Japanese curry. Favorite dish is the pork katsu spicy curry and omelette. Affordable, good for lunch, and a pretty quiet atmosphere.
Once you enter, wait staff will seat you. When ordering curry, you can adjust the spiciness to your liking. The menu is mostly curry, rice, and pasta. Warm comfort food and very delicious!
Good food. Too bad it's closed now
I don't love curry style ramen but this was still really good! Don't have much to compare it too and I usually like it spicy but it was good and a fair price for lunch. Also quick and friendly staff.
Didn't taste the same like before. Maybe new owner?
